Grace Before Performance
Scripture: Ephesians 2:8–10
As we close this first week of Family Strong, it's worth saying plainly: none of this — the ten minutes, the honest conversations, the effort to build a stronger home — earns us God's love. Grace comes first. We don't build our way into God's favor; we build from a foundation of love we've already been given.
That's freeing, especially if this week's practice didn't go perfectly. Maybe the ten minutes didn't happen. Maybe the conversation went sideways. Grace means you get to begin again tomorrow, not because you finally performed well enough, but because God's handiwork in you was never finished to begin with. Rest in that tonight, and get ready to keep building tomorrow.
Reflection Question: Where this week did you feel pressure to “perform” a strong family instead of simply resting in grace and trying again?
Today's Application: Take a moment tonight to release any guilt about a missed opportunity this week, and name one small way you'll begin again tomorrow.
Prayer: God, thank you that we are your handiwork, not our own project to perfect. Where we fell short this week, meet us with grace. Give us a fresh start tomorrow. Amen.
