Monday, January 26 — Honest Prayer in Uncertain Times

Scripture: Psalm 13

This psalm doesn’t sound calm or polished. It sounds frustrated, tired, and unsure. The writer asks, “How long?” and wonders if God has forgotten. This kind of prayer reminds us that honesty is welcome in prayer. We don’t need to hide confusion or doubt.

Many people stop praying because they think they’re doing it wrong when they feel uncertain. Scripture tells a different story. God invites honesty—not performance. Prayer can hold both frustration and trust at the same time.

When we pray honestly, we make room for real connection.

Reflection Question:
What are you holding back from God because you’re not sure how to say it?

Practice:
Tell God one honest thought you usually keep to yourself.

Prayer:
God, thank you for welcoming my honesty. Meet me in my questions. Amen.
