Joy in God’s Faithfulness—Past, Present, Future - Friday, 12/19/2025

Scripture: Lamentations 3:21–24

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases… great is your faithfulness.”

Mary anchors her joy not in her circumstances but in God’s faithfulness across generations. She remembers Abraham, the prophets, and the long story of mercy that led to her doorstep.

Lamentations, written out of pain and destruction, insists on this same truth: God’s love does not end; God’s mercies never fail; God’s faithfulness reaches into every generation. When life is heavy, remembering God’s past faithfulness strengthens us for today and tomorrow.

Joy doesn’t depend on having a smooth path. Joy depends on remembering the One who walks the path with us.

Reflection Question: Where have you experienced God’s faithfulness in the past year?

Action Step: Write down three specific ways God has shown faithfulness in your life. Keep the list somewhere visible.

Prayer: Faithful God, thank You for mercy that never ends. Help me trust Your faithfulness in every season. Amen.
