Let the Prayer Shape You - Saturday, 06/20/2026

Scripture: Colossians 3:12–17

The Lord’s Prayer is not simply something we say to God. It is something God uses to shape us.

When we pray “Our Father,” we are shaped into people who trust that God is near. When we pray for daily bread, we are shaped into people who notice the needs of others. When we ask for forgiveness, we are shaped into people learning to forgive. When we ask not to be led into trial, we are shaped into people who know we need God’s help.

Colossians invites us to clothe ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, patience, forgiveness, love, peace, and gratitude. That is what prayer does over time. It does not just change what we say. It changes who we become.

So today, do not rush the prayer. Let it slow you down. Let it open you. Let it shape you.

Reflection Question: What part of the Lord’s Prayer do you most need to live this week?

Practice: Pray the Lord’s Prayer slowly. Choose one phrase to carry with you through the day.

Prayer: Our Father, shape my heart through the prayer Jesus gave us. Let my life become part of your answer in the world. Amen.
