Making Room for Joy
Scripture: Luke 2:15–20
“Mary treasured all these things and pondered them in her heart.”
Mary lived a life of holy attentiveness. She did not rush past the moments of God’s presence—she held them, pondered them, and let them shape her heart.
We often move too quickly to notice joy. Our schedules crowd out silence. Our worries drown out wonder. Mary teaches us to slow down, look around, and treasure God’s presence even in ordinary places.
Advent joy is not loud; it is attentive. It grows when we stop long enough to recognize God’s quiet work in us and around us.
Reflection Question: Where might God be inviting you to slow down and pay attention today?
Action Step: Take five minutes of silence today. Sit still. Breathe. Ask simply, “God, where are You at work in me?”
Prayer: God of quiet joy, help me make room for You. Give me eyes to see Your presence and a heart that treasures Your work. Amen.
