Paralyzed a Mile from the Promised Land - Sunday, 04/19/2026
Scripture: Numbers 13:25–33
The Israelites stood right on the edge of something incredible. After generations of waiting, wandering, and wondering, they were finally at the doorstep of the life God had promised them. The land was good—fruitful, abundant, everything they had hoped for. And yet, they didn’t move forward.
What stopped them wasn’t a lack of opportunity. It wasn’t even the presence of obstacles. It was fear. The same land that looked full of promise also looked full of danger, and fear began to shape how they saw everything.
Fear has a way of doing that to us. It doesn’t just describe reality—it reshapes it. What might actually be possible starts to feel impossible. What could be a new beginning starts to feel like a risk we shouldn’t take.
Today is an invitation to notice where you might be standing “a mile from the promise.” Where is something good within reach—but fear is keeping you from taking the next step?
Reflection Question: Where might fear be distorting how I see a situation in my life right now?
Action Step: Write down one situation where you feel stuck. Name what you’re afraid of specifically.
Prayer: God, help me see clearly where fear is shaping my thinking. Give me the courage to trust you and move forward. Amen.
