Thursday, January 29 — Prayer in the Middle of Illness

Scripture: Psalm 41:1–4

When illness enters life, prayer often changes. People stop praying for control and start praying for strength, peace, or courage. Scripture acknowledges this shift and offers prayers that speak honestly about weakness while trusting God’s care.

Prayer during illness isn’t about fixing everything. It’s about staying connected to a God who is present in the waiting, the treatments, and the uncertainty.

God meets us in the middle of vulnerability.

Reflection Question:
What kind of prayer feels most honest for you right now?

Practice:
Pray a short prayer asking for strength for today—not tomorrow.

Prayer:
God, stay close to me when I feel weak. Hold me steady. Amen.
