Say Amen With Your Life – Saturday, 08/15/2026

Scripture: James 1:22–27; Romans 12:1–2

“Amen” does not simply mean the prayer is over.

It means:

Let it be so.
I trust this.
Make this true in me.

James reminds us not only to hear the word, but to do it. Romans invites us to offer our lives to God and be transformed by the renewing of our minds.

That is where the Lord’s Prayer is meant to lead.

Not just to words, but to a life.

If we pray “Our Father,” we live as beloved children and treat others as God’s children too.

If we pray “hallowed be thy name,” we notice what is holy and live in a way that honors God.

If we pray “thy kingdom come,” we practice mercy, justice, welcome, and love.

If we pray “daily bread,” we ask for help and share what we have.

If we pray “forgive us,” we receive mercy and begin releasing resentment.

If we pray “lead us,” we look for guidance before we are ruled by fear, anger, or temptation.

If we pray “thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory,” we remember that the future belongs to God.

Amen means we are willing to live inside the prayer.

Not perfectly.
Not all at once.
But today.

One breath.
One choice.
One conversation.
One act of mercy.
One moment of trust.

Practice: Pray the Lord’s Prayer once today. After each line, say: “Let this be true in me.” Then choose one small action that matches the prayer.

Prayer: Faithful God, help me say Amen with more than words. Let this prayer shape my choices, my relationships, my attention, and my hope. Make me a person who lives what I pray—one ordinary day at a time. Amen.
