Seeds Beyond Our Lifetime

Scripture:

John 12:24: “Unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.”

Hebrews 11:13: “All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance.”

Some seeds we plant may not bear fruit in our lifetime. Jesus compares His own death to a seed that produces many more. Hebrews reminds us that people of faith lived and died trusting God’s promises without seeing their fulfillment. Faith means trusting that our seeds may bless generations to come.

Reflection Question: What seeds might you be planting today that could outlast your lifetime?

Action Step: Invest in a younger person this week—through encouragement, mentoring, or prayer. Sow into their life with hope for the future.

Prayer: Eternal God, give me faith to plant seeds that may bless others long after I am gone. Help me trust Your timing and purposes. Amen.
