Scripture: “We ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.” — 1 John 3:16b

Loving like Jesus always costs something. It might be our time, our comfort, our plans, or our convenience. But every sacrifice for love plants seeds of life.

The early church risked status and safety to care for each other. Their faith was credible because their love was visible.

In a culture that measures success by getting, Jesus teaches the joy of giving. The more we lay down, the more room we make for grace.

Action Step:
Choose one small way to sacrifice comfort for compassion today—cancel a plan to help, give extra time to listen, or meet a need quietly.

Self-giving Lord, teach me to love when it’s inconvenient and to find joy in serving others. Amen.
