The God Who Keeps Showing Up - Monday, 06/01/2026

Scripture: Exodus 3:1–12; Matthew 28:16–20

One of the most comforting truths in scripture is that God keeps showing up.

God shows up to Moses in the wilderness when he feels inadequate and uncertain. God shows up to frightened disciples hiding after the crucifixion. God shows up again and again to ordinary people who never feel fully ready.

That matters because many people today feel unqualified for whatever life is asking of them. Parents wonder if they are doing enough. Workers feel burned out. Caregivers feel overwhelmed. Retirees wonder what purpose still remains. Young adults feel pressure to have life figured out before they actually do.

In Matthew 28, even after the resurrection, the text says some disciples still doubted. Yet Jesus sends them anyway. He does not wait for perfect certainty before calling them forward.

And then comes the promise: “I am with you always.” That may be the most important line in the whole passage.

The Christian life was never meant to be powered by self-sufficiency. The God who creates also accompanies. The God who sends also stays near.

Whatever responsibilities or uncertainties you face this week, you do not face them alone.

Reflection Question: Where do you most need reassurance that God is still with you?

Action Step: Write the words “I am with you always” somewhere you will see them several times today.

Prayer: Faithful God, thank you for staying near even when I feel uncertain, afraid, or overwhelmed. Help me trust your presence in the middle of everyday life. Amen.
