What Happens When My Body Doesn’t Cooperate? - Tuesday, 05/05/2026

Scripture: 2 Corinthians 4:16–18

There is a moment when we begin to notice it—our bodies don’t respond the way they used to. Recovery takes longer. Energy fades faster. It can be frustrating, even frightening.

Paul names that reality directly: “Though outwardly we are wasting away…” That’s not poetic exaggeration—it’s honest truth. Bodies change. Aging is real. Illness happens.

But Paul doesn’t stop there. He says something else is happening at the same time: “inwardly we are being renewed day by day.” Even as one part of life weakens, another part can grow stronger.

That’s not something we hear often. Our culture focuses almost entirely on the outward. Scripture invites us to pay attention to what is happening within—our character, our faith, our capacity for love.

What if this season is not just about loss? What if it is also about transformation? What if something deeper is being formed in you, even now?

Reflection Question: Where have you noticed change in your body—and what might God be growing within you?

Action Step: Spend 5 minutes today reflecting on one way you have grown inwardly in the past year.

Prayer: God, renew my spirit even as my body changes. Help me see what you are doing within me. Amen.
