A new Sunday series at Monroe UMC, October 25–November 22, 2026
The grocery total climbs. The calendar fills. Someone else seems to be doing more, earning more, or holding everything together a little better. It’s easy to wonder: When will it be enough? Am I doing enough?
Beginning October 25, Monroe United Methodist Church invites you to explore those questions through Enough: Finding freedom in a world that always wants more. This five-week series will connect the wisdom of Jesus and the Bible with everyday concerns: money, time, family responsibilities, gratitude, and the pressure to keep achieving.
For some households, there truly isn’t enough to cover essential needs. Others have more flexibility but still feel caught in the push for more. The series takes those differences seriously. Gratitude can coexist with grief, worry, and a need for help. Planning can bring clarity, even though it cannot solve every financial shortfall. And your worth is never measured by your income, accomplishments, or ability to give.
Each Sunday offers a different starting point:
October 25 — The Gifts We Overlook: Notice the people and everyday gifts that sustain us, and explore genuine gratitude without denying life’s difficulties.
November 1 — What We Carry Forward: On All Saints Sunday, remember people who have shaped us, make room for grief, and consider the love and wisdom we want to carry forward.
November 8 — Room to Breathe: Explore thoughtful choices about money and responsibilities, with different next steps for different household circumstances.
November 15 — You Are Already Enough: Discover how God’s love gives us worth before we accomplish, earn, volunteer, or give anything.
November 22 — What Can We Make Possible Together?: Consider how freely chosen generosity, shared care, and receiving help can strengthen our community.
Throughout the series, we’ll consider practical responses that fit real lives: thanking someone specifically, caring wisely for what we have, protecting necessary rest, receiving support, or sharing when we are able. No one response fits every household.
We’ll also reflect on what our shared resources make possible through Monroe UMC’s worship and music, children’s programs, Encounter Youth Ministry, and space for community gatherings. Those who wish may complete an optional Estimate of Giving for 2027 to help the congregation plan. Estimates can change as circumstances change. Participation and belonging never depend on making a financial contribution.
You do not need a church background or ready-made answers to join the conversation. Come for one Sunday or all five.
Worship is Sundays at 9:30 am, Casual/Contemporary, and 11:00 am, Traditional. Join Monroe UMC in person in Monroe, Ohio, or watch on Facebook or YouTube. Learn more at MonroeUMC.org.
