How Do I Face the Fear of Dying? - Thursday, 05/07/2026

Scripture: Philippians 1:20–24

Few topics make people uncomfortable like talking about death. We avoid it, postpone it, and hope we won’t have to think about it anytime soon. But deep down, the fear is there.

Paul speaks about life and death with surprising honesty. He acknowledges both the desire to live and the reality of death. But instead of fear, there is a sense of trust.

That trust doesn’t come from having all the answers. It comes from knowing that life—both now and beyond—is held by God. Death is not something we control, but it is not something that has ultimate power either.

This doesn’t remove the sadness or the questions. But it does shift the perspective. It allows us to hold life more openly, more gratefully, more intentionally.

When fear of death begins to loosen its grip, it often frees us to live more fully in the present.

Reflection Question: What fears do you carry when you think about death?

Action Step: Write down one thing you’ve been putting off and take a small step toward it today.

Prayer: God, help me trust you with both my life and my future. Amen.
