Scripture: Ezekiel 37:1–14
There are moments when parts of life can feel dry and lifeless. Dreams fade. Relationships become strained. Grief lingers. Motivation disappears. Faith feels distant.
The prophet Ezekiel stood in a valley filled with dry bones, a picture of hopelessness and despair. Yet God asked an unexpected question: “Can these bones live?” Humanly speaking, the answer seemed impossible.
But then God’s Spirit moved.
Breath entered what seemed dead. Hope emerged where despair had settled in. Life returned.
Pentecost carries that same promise forward. The Spirit of God still brings life to dry places. Sometimes slowly. Sometimes unexpectedly. Sometimes through healing we never imagined possible.
This does not mean every situation changes overnight. Some prayers take time. Some wounds heal gradually. Some grief remains tender. But the Spirit keeps working even when we cannot yet see the full outcome.
Many people today quietly wonder if change is still possible for them. Can joy return? Can relationships mend? Can purpose be rediscovered? Can faith come alive again? Pentecost answers with hope.
God is still breathing life into weary hearts.
Reflection Question: What area of your life feels dry, tired, or discouraged right now?
Action Step: Write down one area where you need renewed hope and pray specifically over it today.
Prayer: Breath of God, meet me in the dry places of my life. Bring renewal where I feel discouraged and hope where I feel weary. Help me trust that your Spirit is still at work. Amen.
