Scripture: Genesis 12:1–4a; Matthew 6:25–27
Abram and Sarai had built a life that made sense. They had history, relationships, routines—everything that gave them identity and stability. Then God spoke a word that disrupted all of it: “Go.” Not “prepare,” not “plan,” not “when you’re ready.” Just go. Leave what is known and step toward what is not.
That kind of moment is where fear often rises in our lives. Not in chaos, but at the edge of possibility. When something new is forming—an opportunity, a decision, a calling—fear steps in and starts asking questions. What if this doesn’t work? What if I lose what I have? What if I’m not enough for what’s ahead?
Jesus speaks into that same space. “Do not worry,” he says—not because life is simple, but because God is present. Faith is not about eliminating uncertainty. It is about trusting God enough to move forward in the middle of it.
Abram didn’t have clarity—but he had a call. And that was enough to take the first step.
Reflection Question: Where in your life are you waiting for certainty before you act?
Next Step: Write down one specific step you sense God inviting you to take this week. Put it somewhere you will see it every day.
Prayer: God, I want clarity before I move—but you often call me to trust instead. Give me courage to take the next step, even when I don’t have all the answers. Amen.
