WHEN PEACE BREAKS THE SILENCE

Scripture: Luke 1:18–25, 57–64

Zechariah’s story begins with questions, fear, and eventually silence. When he doubts the angel’s promise, he enters a season where his voice is taken away for a time. Yet these months of quiet were not wasted. They became a deep well from which God was shaping him for something more.

Silence does not always signal the absence of God. Sometimes it is a holy pause. In our noisy world, silence can feel uncomfortable—we fill every moment with sound, stimulation, and distraction. But God often uses stillness to prepare our hearts for peace.

When Zechariah’s silence finally ends, his first words are not frustration or complaint—they are praise. Peace has entered not only his home, but his heart. His transformation reminds us that grace can grow quietly inside us long before it is visible on the outside.

Reflection Question:
Where might God be inviting you into stillness so peace can grow?

Action Step:
Sit in silent prayer for 3 minutes today—no phone, no music. Just breathe and welcome God.

Prayer:
God of stillness, quiet my anxious heart and help me hear Your peace. Amen.
