Before Jesus tells the disciples to love one another, Jesus gets up from the table, takes a towel, and serves them. The command comes after the demonstration. Jesus knows this group is complicated: one will betray him, another will deny him, and the rest will scatter. Still, Jesus moves toward them in love. In a season when public life tempts us to sort people quickly into camps, the first practice of love is to actually see the person in front of us. Love refuses to reduce a human being to a label.

Connect with God and with each other in our traditional worship experience in our Sanctuary. Our Chancel Choir will sing. We will hear scripture, prayer, and special music, as well as a relevant life message about Jesus' command to "love one another."
