Scripture: 2 Peter 1:16–21
Peter remembers the shining moment on the mountain, but he does not tell believers to chase experiences. Instead, he points them to Scripture as a lamp shining in a dark place. That image is practical and comforting.
A lamp does not light the whole world. It gives enough light for the next step. That is often how God guides us — not with floodlights, but with faithful direction.
We sometimes wish for dramatic signs. But God often speaks through steady practices: Scripture, prayer, worship, and wise counsel. These form a dependable light for real life.
Faith grows not only through big moments, but through daily trust. A lamp used every night is more helpful than fireworks once a year.
