Scripture: Luke 24:13–32 (Key verse: v.15 – “Jesus himself came up and walked along with them.”)

On the road to Emmaus, two disciples walked away from Jerusalem, discouraged and confused. Jesus joined them, but they didn’t recognize Him. Instead of preaching at them, He asked questions and listened to their grief. Only after hearing their hearts did He share truth that rekindled their hope.

Listening is love in motion. Jesus models the kind of presence that transforms—walking alongside, hearing pain, and gently revealing hope. The disciples’ hearts burned not because they were lectured, but because they were heard.

We, too, can walk alongside others with the gift of listening. Often, people don’t need quick answers—they need someone to walk the road with them until hope returns.

Reflection Question: Who might need you to “walk with” them right now through listening presence?

Action Step: Reach out to someone who’s going through a hard time. Offer to meet, walk, or talk—just to listen.

Prayer: God of the journey, thank You for walking with us and hearing our hearts. Help me walk with others, listening with patience and compassion. Amen.
