Made Good - Sunday, 05/31/2026

Scripture: Genesis 1:26–31; Psalm 8:1–9

Many people spend their lives feeling like they are never quite enough. Not productive enough. Not successful enough. Not attractive enough. Not spiritual enough. The pressure to prove ourselves can become exhausting.

But the Bible begins with a radically different message. In Genesis, after creating humanity, God steps back and calls creation “very good.” Before people achieved anything. Before they built careers, accumulated possessions, or earned approval. They were already declared good.

That does not mean life is perfect. We know the world contains pain, injustice, and brokenness. But underneath all of it is this foundational truth: human beings were created with dignity, worth, and purpose.

Psalm 8 marvels that the Creator of the universe pays attention to ordinary people at all. Yet somehow, God does. The same God who formed stars and oceans also notices your fears, your hopes, your family, and your daily struggles.

Many adults in Monroe quietly wonder if their life matters in the larger picture. Parents rushing between work and ballgames. Seniors adjusting to changing seasons of life. Young adults trying to figure out their future. Trinity Sunday reminds us that our lives are not random accidents.

You were created intentionally by a relational God who calls creation good — including you.

Reflection Question: What part of yourself is hardest for you to believe God could call “good”?

Action Step: Spend a few minutes outside today noticing something in creation that fills you with gratitude or wonder.

Prayer: Creator God, when I forget my worth, remind me that I was made intentionally and lovingly by you. Help me see myself and others through your eyes of grace. Amen.
