Scripture: Luke 6:12–13 (Key: “Jesus…spent the night praying to God. When morning came, he called his disciples…”)

Jesus faced a world-changing decision—choosing the twelve apostles—during a season of rising tension. He didn’t gather advisors first or flip a coin. He went up a mountain and prayed through the night. Prayer was not His backup plan—it was His first move.

In our own lives, big decisions can make our stomach churn: career changes, relationship choices, financial pressures. We’re tempted to rush or rely on human wisdom alone. Jesus shows us a different rhythm: pause, seek God, and let prayer shape your perspective before action.

When we start with prayer, we invite clarity, patience, and courage. Even if answers don’t come overnight, prayer positions our hearts to notice God’s guidance.

Reflection Question: What decision or pressure are you facing today that needs to start with prayer?

Action Step: Before you make a key decision today, stop and pray—even if just for a minute.

Prayer: Loving God, teach me to begin every decision with You. Quiet my fears and open my eyes to Your guidance. Amen.
