Small Practices, Stronger Faith — Wednesday, 05/20/2026

Scripture: John 15:1–5

Many people assume spiritual growth happens through dramatic moments. But most faith is formed through ordinary repeated practices over time.

Jesus says, “Abide in me.” Another translation says, “Remain in me.” Stay connected. Stay rooted. Stay close. Like branches connected to a vine, life flows through ongoing connection.

Fear isolates people. It pushes us inward. It convinces us to carry everything alone. But healthy spiritual practices reconnect us with God and with others.

Prayer may seem small. Worship may seem ordinary. Reading Scripture may not feel emotionally dramatic every day. But over time these practices anchor people. They create resilience. They slowly reshape how we respond to fear.

Think about the strongest trees. Their strength is not built overnight. Deep roots form gradually beneath the surface long before storms arrive.

The same is true spiritually. Daily habits of faith prepare us for difficult seasons before we even realize we need them.

You do not have to become fearless overnight. You simply keep returning to the Source of life.

Reflection Question: Which spiritual practice helps you feel most grounded and connected to God?

Action Step: Choose one simple practice this week to repeat daily: prayer, Scripture reading, gratitude journaling, worship music, or reaching out to another person.

Prayer: Loving God, help me stay rooted in you through small daily practices that strengthen my life and faith. Amen.
