Work as Worship - 08/27/2025

Scripture: Colossians 3:23–24; Ecclesiastes 9:10

“Whatever your task, put yourselves into it, as done for the Lord and not for your masters, since you know that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward; you serve the Lord Christ.” (Colossians 3:23–24)

“Whatever your hand finds to do, do with your might; for there is no work or thought or knowledge or wisdom in Sheol, to which you are going.” (Ecclesiastes 9:10)

Brother Lawrence discovered God in the clatter of pots and pans. Washing dishes became prayer; cooking meals became worship. He realized that the presence of God is not confined to sanctuaries or sacred rituals—it is available in the humblest tasks.

We often divide life into “spiritual” and “ordinary,” but Scripture reminds us that whatever we do—work, chores, or caregiving—can be offered to God. What matters most is not the task itself, but the spirit in which it is done.

Application:
God meets us not only in big moments of prayer and worship, but also in laundry rooms, offices, and kitchens.

Action Step:
Pick one routine task today and intentionally do it as an act of love to God.

Prayer:
Jesus, be present in my work today. Transform my daily tasks into worship offered to You. Amen.
