Shining the light on the hill by connecting with Jesus Christ, connecting with each other, and connecting with the world.

Easter Liturgical Dance

Children of ALL ages are invited to be in the dance.  Auditions are NOT necessary!  Practice begins in the last week of January between 11 and 12:30. (Children 5 and under, who come to dance practice, must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.)  Power snacks are provided.

This choreography transforms as each dancer applies his or her own dance or gymnastic moves.  It’s always amazing!

At both services, the kids will express their love for Jesus in the most creative, energetic way!  It’s usually scheduled one or two weeks before Easter Sunday.

PANCAKES WITH THE EASTER BUNNY

This family Easter Event is a time to gather as a community for breakfast, activities, Bible stories, and an egg hunt.  It's always the Saturday before Holy Week between 9 and 11:30 (Egg Hunt: babies, preschoolers, kindergartners and first graders at 11:10; 2nd – 6th grade at 11:20).

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL (VBS)

Save the week after Independence Day for VBS.  It’s for children ages 4 (& potty trained) through grade 6, as well as the entire family!  Each high-energy evening (between 6:30 & 8:45) have Bible related stations, jam packed with games, snacks, mission talks, interactive stories, singing, science experiments and crafts.  Online registration (monroeumc.org) opens in early summer OR you can email/call Gina anytime of the year at gmatcraft@gmail.com / 937-514-3793.

Backpack Blessing / BACK TO SCHOOL / third grade bibles

About a week before school begins, we'll have a "Back to School Bash" at Sunday School!  Not only will we celebrate those advancing to the next grade level, but third graders will receive their own Bibles.  We will pray for their safety and ask for God's blessing on each child's success.

TRUNK OR TREAT

This outdoor event is an opportunity for the community and church family to gather for lots of fun!  Come between 2 and 4pm on the Sunday before Halloween.  Bring the kids to play, do crafts, eat hot-dogs, and collect candy.  If you come with a decorated trunk, please bring candy to pass out and arrive in the south lot facing Lebanon Street.  If it should rain, bring your decorations and candy inside to the gym.

Christmas Play

Children of ALL ages are invited to be in the play.  Auditions are NOT necessary!   Practice begins in the last week of September between 11 and 12:30. (Children 5 and under, who come to play practice, must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.)  Power snacks are provided.
Characters and musicians of all sorts are needed!  It’s a great chance for the kids to preach a powerful message about the birth of Jesus!  Plus, they get to sing and ring hand bells!

The December date varies from year to year.  It will be at 9:30 in the gym.
