MINISTRY TO CHILDREN: BIRTH THROUGH 6TH GRADE

MUMC provides many enriching opportunities for different spiritual levels and age groups. Our team of Christian educators understand that there are multiple ways to learn, as we lead the children to appreciate music, drama, and various forms of art. Our teachers are trustworthy, loyal, and believe that communication is key to building a firm foundation of faith.

Nursery: Birth through Age 4

The nursery is open every Sunday for both the 9:30 A.M. service and the 10:45 A.M. service. The well-equipped nursery is staffed by Linda Larkin, a train attendant and other volunteers. The nursery is located on the top floor of the Church.

SUNDAY SCHOOL – AGES 3 THROUGH 6TH GRADE

All children will begin in the 9:30 contemporary worship and be dismissed to Sunday school after the 1st song, when the “Go Kids” logo comes up on the screen.  Upon dismissal, children will be immediately engaged in a large group/small group Sunday school format.  Go Kids is the large group part with worship, Bible time, skits, and games.  Small group is when the children divide in their age groups and go through the Faith Weaver Now curriculum for some Bible discovery, discussion and hands on fun!  The small group is divided as follows:

LITTLE ANGELS:

Little angels is a high energy, hands-on activity based Sunday school for children ages 3 years to kindergarten who are ready to start learning the stories of the Bible.  Each Sunday your child will learn an easy to understand bible lesson, enjoy making a craft, sing a song or two, and say a prayer.  This class is taught by Miss Jessie.

B.L.A.S.T. (Bible Learning And Sharing Together)

B.L.A.S.T. is our 1st-3rd grade small group.  This class is lead by Miss Justine.

Flames of Faith

Flames of Faith is for grades 4th-6th.  In this tween level Sunday school class kids will learn how to search the Bible for answers and build a faith foundation that guides wise choices!  The class is led by Miss Gina.

Sunday school teachers are comprised of Monroe UMC staff members and volunteers who have all undergone the Shepherd’s Watch background check.

BIBLE ACTIVITY QUIET BAGS

Quiet Bags are available for children attending the 10:45 traditional service to borrow. Simply return to the Children’s Hall tree outside of the sanctuary at the conclusion of the service.
